KINLOCHEWE TOILETS

 Meeting in Kinlochewe Hall

7.00pm Thursday 28th February

We need your support

Last year the Torridon and Kinlochewe Community Council invested a great deal of effort in trying to persuade the Highland Council to keep the toilets at Kinlochewe open. Whilst successful for 2018, the HC finally pulled the plug on the toilets when they were closed permanently last October with no plans to re-open them.

As a result, a few of us weak bladdered individuals from the area, who can’t make it to Inverness without a pitstop, are determined to do something about it. We need the strategically located toilets at Kinlochewe, as do the increasing number of tourists in the area.

We have therefore been in touch with the Highland Council and other relevant organisations and, with the support of the TKCC and the Kinlochewe Hotel, have set up a steering group to look into the viability of opening the toilets under community management this spring.

Your support will be crucial to the success of this community project and so we want to keep you fully informed as we move forward. To this end, we will be holding a public meeting at Kinlochewe Village Hall at 7.00 pm on Thursday 28 February to outline our progress, answer questions and also to listen to your ideas. We will be joined at the meeting by Ms Diane Campbell of the Community Ownership Support Service and Derek MacLeod, one of our Ward 5 councillors. We look forward to seeing all of you at the meeting.

In the meantime, if you have any comments or suggestions, or if you would be interested in getting involved in the steering group please e-mail us at the Kinlochewe Toilets Steering Group (ktsteeringgroup@gmail.com). We would really like to hear from you.

Thank you for your support.
