Located in the village of Kinlochewe Taransay is a family run Bed and Breakfast offering the highest standard of accommodation. Taransay sits at the base of Beinn Eighe in the centre of the newly designated UNESCO Wester Ross Biosphere Reserve. The village is ideally situated for day excursions to all areas of Wester Ross in addition to Skye and the North West Highlands. With Beinn Eighe National Nature Reserve on our doorstep and the dramatic landscapes of Loch Maree and Slioch within easy reach you do not have to travel very far to enjoy our beautiful local area. Kinlochewe is the halfway house for the Cape Wrath Trail, now part of the International Appalachian Trail, a superb long distance walk from Spean Bridge to Cape Wrath.
Situated in a modern house on a traditional Croft, Taransay offers 3 ensuite rooms: two double and one twin room. A warm welcome awaits with complimentary refreshments and home baking on arrival. A WI-FI facility is available for guests.
We have a vast knowledge of the surrounding area and beyond. We will be happy to help you plan your stay in the area with advice on what to see, do thus enhancing your visit. There are many walks for all abilities close by, for the photographer the landscapes, wildlife and plantlife are second to none. For the mountaineer and Munro Bagger there are some of the finest walking and climbing routes with classics such as Liathaich, Beinn Alligin, Beinn Eighe and Slioch, it is also the ideal base to tackle the Munros in the Fisherfield Forest and South Torridon Hills. For the fisherman there are many opportunities to fish some of the finest salmon and sea trout rivers in addition to Loch Maree, boats are available locally.
